Mr. Malburg also started the Malburg Monument service in 1985, handling all types of monuments for cemeteries in Romeo and anywhere else a marker may be needed.
The funeral home has been expanded 3 times over the years.
1990 – Expanded main chapel to almost 2000 square feet and also expanded the lounge area by doing this.
1997 – Added second chapel by approximately 1500 square feet.
1998 – Added a grief counselor to the staff to call all families and run a community grief support group.
1998 – Mr. Malburg received his limited life insurance license to be able to do in-house pre-need for families, mostly for people who are going into nursing homes and need to liquidate funds to qualify for state aid.
1999 – Added handicapped bathrooms, making the whole building handicapped accessible. We've also added an arrangement office and made the lounge area even larger.
2004 – Revamped the whole parking area and finished landscaping the front of the building.
Mr. Malburg started his business in June of 1985. Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home has been serving Romeo compassionately ever since.
