James Aloysius Malley, Jr., age 78, a 6 year resident of Romeo, and previously from Plymouth, MI., and New York City, passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at Beaumont Hospital in Troy, Michigan. Jim was born March 31, 1941 in New York City, the son of James and Lucy (Gray) Malley. He married the former Marilyn J. Waggoner on May 4, 1968 in New York City. Jim started working for General Motors at 17 years of age and worked for them for 25 years. When Detroit Diesel split from General Motors, Jim worked the rest of his 40 year career as the North American Transportation Manager in Redford Michigan, before retiring in December 1999. Upon retiring, he had more time play golf, go bowling, and travel with his wife. Jim served his country proud in the Army from 1961 till 1963. Jim is survived by his wife Marilyn, daughters: Kathleen (Jim) Stevenson of Macomb Twp., & Eileen (Jimmy) Morris of Richmond, Texas. Also survived by grandchildren Justin & Chase Nalback, Daniel & Hope Stevenson, along with great granddaughter Sadie Rankey. Jim is also survived by his sister Diana (Richard) Molnar of New Baltimore. Visitation will be held at The Henry M Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan, Monday afternoon between 3pm and 8pm with a Rosary at 7pm by the Knights of Columbus, Council # 7018. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, July 9 at 10 AM at St Clement Catholic Church of Romeo A Private Family Burial will take place at a later date at Great Lakes Veteran Cemetery in Holly, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, Donations can be made to Alzheimer's Association Charity.
