Barbara Barron

Barbara Louise Barron, 76, of Gladstone, Michigan, entered into the presence of her Savior on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at home, surrounded by her loving family.

Barbara was born on December 5, 1949, in Romeo, Michigan, to Howard Rudolph Falker and Marjorie Elsie (Kiehler) Falker. She graduated from Romeo High School in 1968 before earning a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics Teaching from Michigan State University and a dual Masters Degree in Education and Educational Administration from Eastern Michigan University.

Barbara lived a remarkable life marked by courage, conviction, and unwavering faith. At age 30, she enlisted in the United States Army, where she earned recognition as a sharpshooter. She later moved to Alaska to teach school, where her adventurous spirit led her to purchase and operate a fishing boat. Though her experiences were many, Barbara's greatest calling would ultimately become serving Christ and investing in her family.

On October 3, 1992, Barbara married Robert "Bob" Barron in Cheboygan, Michigan. Together they made their home on the Barron family cattle farm near Gladstone, where they built a life centered on faith, family, and hard work.

Barbara spent many years teaching home economics in public schools before serving as a substitute teacher throughout Delta County. When her children came along, she chose to devote herself fully to raising and educating them, faithfully homeschooling them and instilling in them a love for learning, a strong work ethic, and, above all, a love for the Lord.

A gifted homemaker, Barbara was known for her exceptional baking, sewing, gardening, and creativity. She even designed and sewed her own wedding dress. She delighted in sharing the harvest from her garden, homemade baked goods, and the love of Christ with everyone she met. Though she spent her early years in Michigan's Lower Peninsula, she proudly became a happy Yooper and embraced the Upper Peninsula as home.

Barbara's deepest passion was her walk with Jesus Christ. She faithfully ministered alongside Bob through Berean Baptist Church in Soo Hill, where together they sought to share the Gospel and disciple others. For eighteen years, she also blessed residents of Christian Park Center by faithfully playing the piano during Saturday morning services. Her quiet faithfulness, servant's heart, and love for Scripture left an eternal impact on countless lives.

Above every accomplishment, Barbara treasured her family. She delighted in watching her children and grandchildren grow, praying faithfully for them, encouraging them, and pointing them toward Christ.

Barbara is survived by her devoted husband, Robert "Bob" Barron of Gladstone; her children, Mitchell (Emily) Barron of Lake City, Wesley Barron of Escanaba, and Tucker Barron of Escanaba; her beloved grandchildren, Viola, Eleanor, and Winston Barron; her siblings, Howard (Karlene) Falker, Beverly (Craig) Nyeholt, and Mark (Robin) Falker; as well as many dearly loved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard Rudolph and Marjorie Elsie Falker.

A memorial service celebrating Barbara's life will be held on Saturday, August 1, at 1:00 p.m. at Berean Baptist Church, 4677 18th Road, Escanaba, Michigan. A livestream of the service will also be available at St. John's Lutheran Church, 214 Benjamin Street, Romeo, Michigan, for family and friends in the Lower Peninsula.
