Brian Paul Birch

Brian Paul Birch, age 68, a resident of Washington Twp for 23yrs, passed away suddenly at home on November 16, 2023. Brian was born in Dearborn MI. on February 25, 1955, son of Leonard and Florence Birch (Maciolek).


Brian was a graduate of Michigan State University where he met his future wife, Patricia. He was most proud that all three of his children also graduated from MSU, carrying on his Spartan legacy. He retired from Ford Motor Company. In retirement, he enjoyed spending time at home with family, cooking holiday meals, and magically pulling coins from his grandchildren’s ears. He could often be found outdoors on the water, walking around Stoney Creek with his dog, hunting, or fishing.


Brian is survived by his loving wife of 41yrs, Patricia, and his children, Tara (Keith) Schonberger of Rochester Hills, Eric (Nikki) Birch of Romeo, and Kevin Birch of Chicago. Also, Brian’s siblings, Barbara (Ken) Koster of Clinton Twp., Mark (Judy) Birch of South Lyon, Robert (Sue) Birch of Clinton Twp., and his sister-in-law, Sue Birch. Grandchildren; Eli, Adam, Leah, Easton, Emmett, and Edison.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Florence Birch, his brother Phil Birch, and his sister Dianne Clements.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 20, 2023 from 12-2 at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home in Romeo, MI.

Burial immediately following at Mt. Vernon Cemetery.
