Charles Dias Gomes

Charles Dias Gomes II, age 74, a lifelong resident of Romeo, passed away peacefully at home on August 19, 2026. He was born on February 14, 1952 in Mount Clemens, Michigan to Charles Gomes and Mildred Gomes of Romeo.

Charles enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served during the Vietnam War. He loved hunting, fishing, motorcycle shows, and riding motorcycles. He spent 33 years working as a tree trimmer.

Charles is survived by his wife Sharon Gomes of 53 years, Tarnesa (Emilio) Carrizosa of St. Clair Shores, Felicia Martinez of Chesterfield; his grandchildren, Bethani, Kayla, Elijah, Katora, Lillian, Marliona, Daniella, Dyontay, DaSontay, LaMeasa, LaMya, and LaJayda; 12 great-grandchildren, his siblings, Sharon Fultz of Arizona, Bill (Joanne) Gomes of Lapeer, Sally Cummings of Ohio, Sandy (Dan) Gatto of Sterling Heights, Karen Carpenter of Macomb, Michigan, Michele (Dale) Alexander of Almont; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mildred Gomes, his daughter, Miranda Gomes, siblings Suzanne Weiner, Debarah Derrick, Yvonne (Harrold) Beal, Mark Carpenter, Junior Fultz and his niece Sharon.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at 10 AM, with visitation being held Monday, August 24, 2026 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM, held at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home.
