Cheryl L. Zuehlk, age 73, passed away peacefully on January 16th, at home with her family by her side in Ray Twp., Michigan. Cheryl was born on March 10, 1948 in Detroit, Michigan, daughter of Terrance and Dorothy (Wehenkel) Monahan. Cheryl graduated from Dominican Academy in Oxford, MI, class of 1966. She married the love of her life, Kenneth Zuehlk on April 12, 1969 at St. Clement of Rome. She worked at the Detroit Arsenal Tank Plant before becoming a homemaker and raising her family. Later in life she was the Adult Education Coordinator at St. Clement of Rome. Cheryl was a fun loving, caring person with a big heart. She enjoyed attending sporting events, the beach, dancing, baking, and working and volunteering at St.Clement. But most of all she loved spending time with her family and her beloved cats. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Kenneth Zuehlk, sons Richard (Teri) Zuehlk of Macomb Twp., Stephen Zuehlk of Chesterfield, daughters Jennifer (Ramon) Acosta of Alpharetta, Georgia, and Sherry (Christopher) Carr of Ray Twp. Grandchildren, Kaila and Cameron Zuehlk, and Kailee and Kara Acosta. Also survived by her siblings, Rosemary Henderson and William Monahan, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Carl Monahan. Funeral Service will take place at the St. Clement Catholic Church on January 20, 2022, at 10am Visitation will take place at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home on January 19, 2022 from 2-8 pm The family asks that any charitable donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. •
