Earle C. Brooks, age 77, a resident of Ray Township for 54 years, passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2026 at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township, MI. Earle was born September 22, 1948 in Hubbard Lake, MI., the son of Earle and Elsie (Anderson) Brooks. After graduating from Alcona High School in 1966, Earle served his country in the Navy during the Vietnam War. After his enlistment, he married the Gayle (Stark) on September 26, 1970 at St Peter’s Lutheran Church in Macomb Township. He was a journeyman/lineman for IBEW Local 17, where he worked with different electrical companies until his retirement. While working, he joined the Ray Township Fire department and served his Township as a Fireman/EMT from 1975 till 1988, after that, he had more time to hunt, fish, play euchre, and go up north to his cabin. He was a longtime member of the VFW #4659, the Old Settlers Post in Shelby Township.
Earle is survived by his wife Gayle, son Tim (Deloris Kiesel) Brooks, daughter Susan Brooks, grandson Cody Ingles, sister Carolyn (Mark) Malaski, twin brother Carl, sister Earlene Krist, and brother and sister-in-law Gary and Rita Stark.
Funeral services will take place on Monday, August 17 at 11 AM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home (11280 32 Mile Rd, Romeo MI 48065) with Rev. Mike Phillips of Grace Lutheran Fellowship Church officiating. Visitation will take place on Sunday from 2-8 PM with a 7 PM Pass and Review by the Ray Twp. Firemen.
