Elmer “Junior” Kage went to be with his Lord on this day, February 13, 2024 at the age of 91. Junior was born on August 31, 1932 to parents Elmer Sr. and Ida (Karr) Kage on a farm in Utica, Michigan.
At the age of 20, he was drafted into the United States Army, where he served for two years on the front lines during the Korean War. When Junior returned home from the war, he, along with his parents, opened Kage Collision which they owned and operated for 22 years.
On June 18, 1960, Junior married Gladys Fiebelkorn, and they had three children, Cindy (Thomas) Wunsche of Almont, Michigan, Sherry Kage of Washington, Michigan, and Duane Kage of Almont, Michigan. They resided in Sterling Heights, Michigan until 1972, when they moved to Almont. Junior and Gladys then started Kage Trucking Inc., which they operated for 15 years.
Junior enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, four wheeling, and spending time at Hubbard Lake with his family. Junior was preceded in death by his wife Gladys, and parents Elmer Sr. and Ida (Karr) Kage.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024 at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan. A private burial will take place at Ferguson Cemetery, Almont, Michigan.
