Flora L. George

Flora L. George, age 88, a 30 year resident of Kalkaska, and formerly from Romeo, passed away on Friday, September 16, 2011 at the Medi-Lodge Nursing Facility in Port Huron. Flora was born February 21, 1923 in Romeo, the daughter of Louis and & May (Phillips) Stuart. She married Merle George and he preceded her in death on November 4, 2004. Flora was a 1941 graduate of Romeo High School and was a longtime member of the Romeo United Methodist Church. Her hobbies include gardening, was an avid knitter, and enjoyed watching birds. Flora is survived by her children: Edward George (Susan) of Avoca, MI., Michael George and Muriel (John) Wilcox both of Eau Claire, MI. Also survived by 1 grandson Brad and 4 great grandchildren. Funeral services will take place on Monday at 2 PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home of Romeo with Rev. Cindy McCulloch Officiating. Burial will follow in the Bruce Cemetery.
