Gene Paul Manning

Gene P. Manning, age 88, formerly from Ohio, who lived in Detroit, and resided in Romeo passed away on Sunday February 1, 2026 at Orchard Grove Health Campus. Gene was born on September 5, 1937, the son of Dana and Anne Marie (Paver). He was a graduate of Cooley High School, and after graduation he attended and earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Throughout his life he was involved in many clubs, such as Snowmobile, Jeep, Polka Booster, and even Nascar. Gene also loved cutting grass, camping, and snowmobiling.

Gene is survived by his loving wife Jan of Romeo, children, Brian (Sheila) of Dearborn Heights, Lisa (Bob) Piestrak of Dearborn Heights, Jill Shaw of Port Huron, Paul (Kim) of Dearborn Heights, and Tim (Lenda) Holt of Hastings, Michigan, brother-in-law Mark (Susan) Thorman, along with 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son-in-law Dennis Shaw, along with his sister and her husband- Judy (Nick) Scavone.

Funeral services will take place on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at 5:00 PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 and Wednesday, February 4, 2026 from 2:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
