Hermine Mick, best known as "Eve", passed away at age 92, peacefully on January 28, 2022 at Wellbridge in Romeo. She was born on February 22, 1929 in Stuttgart Germany, the daughter of Johann Michel and Maria (Bretzler). She is survived by her daughter Susan (Bob Gordon) Mick of Jackson, Wyoming, and son Mark (Janet) Mick of Chesterfield, Michigan. She adored and is survived by her grandchildren, Justin Mick, Katie Mick and Sloane Gordon. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Michael Mick, and grandson Sawyer Gordon. Eve graduated from Secondary School in Germany and went on to trade school for dressmaking and design. She came to the US, was married, and started her family. Mom will always be remembered as a loving proud mother, grandmother, mother-in-law and aunt. Her many talents were reflected in creativity as a seamstress and her eye for style. Not only was she fashionable herself she helped countless Casual Corner customers who often asked for her specifically to coordinate an outfit and looked to her for fashion. She was also known for alterations she did for her customers because of her added special touch. Her sewing skills were best show cased in the countless costumes she designed for school activities and many are still in use. Mom was also an amazing cook who could be found at the kitchen table looking over recipes she collected and stored in an old shoe box from newspapers, magazines, friends, and family. Her specialty was her German dishes. She was never as happy as when she was spending time with family close or far away. She cherished her visits to Jackson Hole WY; visiting her daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren being part of their activities and lives. She enjoyed her travels with them to many far off places around the world. She loved to share pictures and tell about her time spent with them. She took joy in sharing many trips over summer vacation with relatives and friends in tow to Germany to visit Oma, Opa, many relatives, and friends. She reminisced over many family vacations one of which she often shared was when the family packed up the family car and drove across the USA. She also liked to share her culture with friends and family at German clubs and festivals. Most of her time was spent dancing, but if no partner was available she would teach all who would learn different dances. The food, activities, and music brought comfort to her on these occasions. Gardening was another favorite passion of hers. She was always admiring the beauty of her neighbors’ gardens. Flower shopping was always exciting for her choosing just the right plants and color scheme each year. She won the Harrison Twp., Beautification Award for which she was most proud. Our hearts are full of the love she shared with us. She was member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Mt. Clemens to which a memorial will be held on March 4, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Peter Catholic Church or the American Heart Association.
