Jean Marie Harris

  Jean Marie Harris, age 83, a 30-year resident of Rochester Hills, passed away Saturday, June 21 2025 in Troy, Michigan. Jean was born April 18, 1942 in Napoleon, Ohio, the daughter of Paul and Leona (Sherman) Knipp. Jean graduated from Morency High School, attended Sienna Heights College for her Bachelor’s Degree, then obtained her Master’s Degree from Eastern Michigan University in Elementary Education. Jean was a school teacher for 40 years, teaching mostly 4th Grade for the Chippewa Valley School District. On July 2, 1995, Jean married John Harris at Davis Methodist Church. Jean enjoyed traveling, especially on trains, and taking cruises. She also enjoyed playing solitaire, baking cookies, gardening, sewing, and spending time with her grandchildren.

  Jean is survived by her husband J.C. of Rochester Hills, daughter Kim (Jon) Schultz of Avoca, brother, John (Elaine) Knipp of Portland, Indiana, sister Julie Dey of Bellevue, Washington, grandchildren: Louis Schultz, Cooper Schultz, Autumn, and Brookelynn, as well as many nieces and nephews.

  Visitation will be held Thursday, June 26, 2025 from 2:00 to 8:00 PM, at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, with funeral services to be held Friday, June 27, 2025 at 11:00AM, also at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home.

  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memphis Tennessee.
