Kay L. Westra

  Kay L. Westra, age 70, a 33 year Romeo area resident passed away on October 8, 2026 at her home. Kay was born on August 2, 1956, the daughter of William and Elizabeth (Burgar) Wilson. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School in Ypsilanti. In 1980 she married Charles Westra. Kay was a person of great faith, and a longstanding member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Sterling Heights. While Kay spent many years as a Real Estate Appraiser, her true passion was being a homemaker for her family. Her greatest joy was raising her children, and later becoming a grandma. She was also known as an excellent quilter and gardener.

Kay is survived by her husband Chuck of the Romeo area. Children: Jeff (Juliana) of Lakeview, New York, Mike (Karla) of Grand Blanc, and Laura (Jonathan) Sageser of Traverse City. Siblings; Bill (Dyonna) Wilson and Donna Horn. Grandchildren; Victoria, Arianna, Michael, Charlie, William, Anna, Emmy, and Katelyn. She was preceded in death by by both her parents and her sister Carole Stiner.

Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, October 14, 2026 at 11 AM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home in Romeo. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, October 13, 2026 from 4 to 8 PM.
