It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Kelly Marie Lange, a beloved daughter, sister, aunt and friend, who passed away on October 21, 2026.
Born on March 20, 1979, Kelly was generous with her love and caring about others. Her sense of humor and positive attitude helped her through life's challenges. She befriended everyone she met and because of that she had love and support beyond the norm from family, friends, friend's family members and care takers. She lived a full and happy life despite any health set backs. She had many achievements she was proud of, but the one she was most proud of was her black sash in Tai Chi, which she received at 44 years old and blind. Kelly graduated from Almont High School, class of 1997 and from Lake Superior State University in 2005. She student taught and substituted at Almont Orchard Primary, but her career was cut short by the need for a kidney & pancreas transplant. Through high school, college and after college she worked for Wilson Veterinary in Romeo and also was nanny to Dr. Wilson and Polly's four children. It was Polly who encouraged Kelly to get a teaching degree. While working for Dr. Wilson, Kelly met a new hire, also named Kelly. Kelly Wood Hatton became Kelly's sister and closest friend. Kelly and her husband Joe built a handicapped accessible apartment attached to their house with the help of family, friends and the community. She was there for the birth of Kelly and Joe's three children and loved them as her own. She was very grateful that she was able to have that experience.
She is survived by her mother, Patti Lange, her brothers, Tom and Paul Lange, her niece Izzy Rae Lange, her Uncles, Tony Alfonsi, Dennis and Ron Lange. Aunts, Denise, Annette, Debbie and Paula Alfonsi and many good friends from childhood, especially Kelly (Joe) Hatton, their children, Evan, Sean and Leah.
She will be truly missed by all who new and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her Father, Richard Lange, Uncle, Mark Alfonsi, Grandparents, Larry and Barb Alfonsi, Paul and Margaret Lange.
