Larry Joseph “Joe” Winget Jr., 65, peacefully went to his heavenly home surrounded by his loved ones on Thursday, January 1, 2026,at his home in rural Wapakoneta, Ohio.

Joe was born in Lima,Ohio,on July 15, 1960,to Larry J. Winget and Alicia J. (Market) Winget, who survive him. He is survived by his wife, Kathy (Lewis),and their four children, Aaron (Treasa) Winget, Meranda (Kenneth)Hill,Sarah(Buzz ) Suuppi,and Rebecca (Jonathan) Gingiloski.They have nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren,and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived byhis siblings Adalicia(Joe)Tignanelli,Norman Matthew(Christie) Winget, and Annalisa (Michael) Toth.He is preceded in death by his infant son Joshua Winget and sister Gwendolyn(Franc)Cameron.

While living in Ohio, Joe loved spending time with his Grandpa Market on the family farm.The Winget family moved to Michigan,where his father established a plastic injection molding company.Joe and Kathy married on December 8, 1979.After many years of working and learning from his father, Joe opened his own plastic injection molding company,Valtec Plastics,in 2005.Though Valtec has been a successful business for Joe, his real passion was farming. In 2000,Joe went back to his roots and established a thriving cattle farm,Black hoof Creek Angus,east of Wapakoneta, Ohio.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 8, 2026, at the Grace Lutheran Fellowship Church, 7525 32 Mile Rd., Romeo, MI 48065, with Pastor Eric Majeski officiating. A private family burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m., Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, 11280 32 Mile Road, Romeo, MI 48065, and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Grace Lutheran Fellowship.
