Larry Walter Skover

Larry Walter Skover, age 83, a 30 year resident of Shelby Township, passed away Saturday, August 29, 2026 at Corewell Health Troy Beaumont Hospital. Larry was born June 17, 1943 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Michael and Bernice (Peters) Skover. Larry graduated from Osborne High School, Class of 1961. He married Honorene Moore on April 21, 1967 at the Detroit Episcopal Church. Larry served his country in the Army for 6 years before being honorably discharged. He enrolled in Macomb Community College, and went on to attend Central Michigan University where he earned his Master’s Degree. Larry worked at Chrysler Truck, then the Marine Division, ultimately becoming a Master Jeweler. Larry loved to travel, and loved music. He played saxophone with his band, Thunder Rocks.

Larry is survived by his wife, Honorene of Shelby Township, Christopher Skover of Almont, daughter-in-law Michelle Skover, brothers, Harold Skover, Ronald Skover, grandchildren, Kevin, Justin, Jacqueline, Christopher, Nathan, Megan Ann, step-grandson Alex Rodriguez, and great-grandchildren Logan, Skylar, Bentley, and Jordan, and ex-wife Cherie Skover. He is preceded in death by his son, Randy Skover in 2017, brother Roy sisters-in-law, Gerry Skover Betty Skover, Helen, Skover, and grandson, Andrew.

Visitation will be held Saturday, September 5, 2026 from 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home. A service will take place at 5 PM with Pastor Kevin officiating.
