Marguerite S. Kretz

A resident of Washington since 1971 and formally of Suttons Bay, Michigan passed away on February 1st. She was 91 years old.

Marguerite was a loving wife and mother, married for 67 years to Edward Kretz. In 1975 she became a stay home mother, instilling trust, honesty and hard work to her children. Not only did she raise her own children for 38 years, she also watched other neighbor's and local teacher's children until 1999.

During her free time she enjoyed reading, cross stitching, sewing and playing cards. In her younger days she was an active bowler and loved to square dance.

Marguerite is survived by children Edward (Roberta) Kretz of Ira Township, Linda (Chris) Gassen of Grosse Pointe Woods, Mark Kretz of Royal Oak, Brian (Gina) Kretz of Brighton Township, grandchildren: Ryan (Sherri) Kretz, Nathan (Mandy) Kretz, Michael Gassen, Vincent (Reese) Kretz and Hunter, Ashley & Kennedy Kretz and 3 great-grandchildren: Georgia, Olivia, and Kendall. Also her brother, Ruduolf Eckerle of Howell. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Edward, her son Kenneth and her sister Mary-Jean.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 16, 2026 from 1-8 pm with the Holy Rosary at 7pm, at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home in Romeo, Mi. Burial will be held at Christian Memorial Cemetery on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at 11am.
