Marie K. Beckenhauer

Marie K. Beckenhauer, age 81, a resident of the Detroit/St. Clair Shores area and a 37 year resident of Angola, Indiana, passed away at her daughter’s home in Riley Township on Wednesday, December 6, 2017. Marie was born January 23, 1936, the daughter of Charles & Elizabeth (Odell) Thornton. She married Jay Beckenhauer in 1955 and he preceded her in death in 1998. Marie worked for many years at Bayne Optical in Grosse Pointe, Michigan as a Optician and then worked for the Indiana Toll Road System till retirement in 1999. Marie was a longtime member of the Moose Lodge #266 in Angola. Marie is survived by her children: Timothy (Nadine) Beckenhauer of Chesterfield Township and Jayne (Charles) Miller of Riley Township, Michigan. Also survived by grandchildren Kristen (Kevin) George, Jonathan & Curt Miller along with her brother Charles (Joan) Thornton of Grosse Pointe. Marie was preceded in death by her husband and sons: Daniel & Craig. Memorial services will be on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 4 PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home of Romeo with Rev. Mark Evans officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday from 1-4 PM, when the service will start.
