Mark Boyd Waatti, age 58, of Rochester, Michigan, passed away on July 7, 2026 after losing his long battle with heart complications. Mark was born July 10, 1967, his godparents were JoAnna and Harold Waatti. Mark is preceded in death by his loving parents, Marvin and Sandra Waatti, sister Julianne (Waatti) Kulman (Daniel) their children, Weston Kulman (Cassandra) and Sawyer Kulman, brothers John Waatti (Suzette) their children, Jack Waatti, Lukas Waatti (Nicole), Chris Watti (Arlene) their daughter Emma Waatti, and son Kody Waatti, his favorite Auntie Roberta Tanis who is Sandra’s only sister, along with numerous cousins, whom he loved.

Mark graduated from Rochester Adams High School. He learned the electrical trade he cherished from his father, Marvin Waatti, along with many uncles, which included Marvin's Brothers Harold and Jim Waatti and Marvin's brother-in-law Don Carver. Mark started his career at Waatti & Sons Electric, working alongside his father and two brothers John and Chris Waatti.

Mark was a proud member of the IBEW Local 58, he spent his life electrifying the world around him, from building Auto plants, installing transformers in power stations or helping repair the grid after major storm damage. He took great pride in his work, keeping people and his co-workers safe while doing the job. The world will be a bit dimmer without him in it.

A few years ago he purchased a brand new home, that December a little friend showed up in his garage. His beloved companion, a kitten he named Hank. She plays like a dog and gave him hours of entertainment and so much JOY. Hank is struggling as much as we all are, she loved him so much.

Mark was quick to laugh, a hard worker, always willing to lend a hand to anyone that needed help. He always said he had a broken heart but man it was big and full of love for his family and friends.

On 7/7/2026 at the hospital, Mark was asked if he believed in God by a very caring nurse, he said yes and asked if he would like to pray, he passed that afternoon. The following day pastor Keith Lemley from Our Redeemer Church in Washington, Michigan, met Mark's parents and sister at the funeral home in Romeo where he performed a beautiful prayer and blessing to send our Finnish warrior to meet his Savior Jesus Christ. Mark believed in the Lord to his very last day, wish we had more days together.

The family is planning a celebration of life at his sister's Farm in Petoskey, Michigan on his 60th birthday.
