Marvin F. VanThomme, age 68, a resident of Romeo/Almont/and Shelby Township, passed away on Sunday January 25, 2026 at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township. Marv was born May 10, 1957 in Mt Clemens, MI., the son of Raymond and Theresa (Beste) VanThomme. On August 12, 1978, Marv married Brenda Barnett at St John Catholic Church in Allenton, Michigan. While growing up, he worked on his family’s farm and greenhouses, first on 23 Mile Road in Shelby Township and then at the farm in Almont. After graduating from Almont High School in 1975, Marv became a carpenter, working with many contractors around the area. He had many and varied hobbies over the years, from hunting & fishing, snowmobiling and riding dirt bikes, watching football games, and spending as much time as he could with his wife, children and grandchildren.
Marv is survived by his wife Brenda, daughter Amy (David Shank) Radloff of Romeo and Tom (Jacqueline) VanThomme of Sterling Heights. Also survived by grandchildren Noah, Faith, Sarah, and Madison. Siblings surviving include Larry (Nancy) VanThomme, Marion (Robert) Webber, Ken, & Raymond VanThomme. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Frank.
A Memorial service will be held at a later date with burial at Romeo Cemetery.
