Matthew G. Martin

Matthew Gordon Martin, age 63, passed away July 2, 2026 at home in Romeo. Matthew was born November 26, 1962 in Mount Clemens, Michigan, the son of Alvin and Adeline Martin. Matthew served in the Army Reserves, then worked as a lineman for Huron Cable and Comcast for many years. He also installed Direct TV, and worked in a factory as a Machine Operator.

Matthew loved the outdoors; he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also liked to watch football and hockey, hanging out with his buddies. In his younger years, he liked to ride dirt bikes, motorcycles and snowmobiles, and loved off-roading. He was fun, smart, caring, and outgoing, and he could fix anything by “martinizing” it.

Matthew is survived by his mother, Adeline Martin, daughters, Tracy Willin, Jamie (Thomas) Jones, and Andrea (Kyle) Vandeberghe, brothers, Shawn (Maria) Martin, and Mark (Kim) Martin, as well as 5 grandkids and 6 nieces and nephews. Matthew is preceded in death by his father, Alvin.

The family will be planning a private memorial service at a later date.
