Merle John Frescura

Merle J. Frescura, Jr. 88 of Almont, MI passed away peacefully September 21, 2026 surrounded by his family. Merle was born August 24, 1938 in Detroit, MI to Merle and Hazel Frescura. He married Eileen Pyles June 18, 1960, they celebrated 66 years of marriage this year.

Merle proudly joined the Marine Corps in 1956 where he served faithfully for 4 years. Upon discharge he worked as a mechanic before getting hired at Ford Motor Company, Sterling Plant. He retired from Ford after 30 years at age 55. Following retirement, he enjoyed sailing the Great Lakes with his friends and traveling the country with Eileen. His lifetime hobbies included woodworking and fixing anything that needed fixing. Most of all Merle enjoyed spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed trips with his grandchildren and watching their sporting events.

Merle was deeply loved by his wife, daughters, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Eileen, daughters Michelle (Dennis) Campbell, Sherrie (Gene) Taylor. Grandchildren; Nicole (Jesse) Hall, Alysse Campbell, Alexx (Brad) Rowley, Claire Taylor, Dylan Taylor. Great Grandchildren; Madison Hall, Hunter Rowley and Hayden Rowley. Brothers; William Frescura and Johnny (Lark) Frescura and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Thursday,October 1st from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home in Romeo, MI.

In lieu of flowers donations in Merle’s name can be sent to the Residential Hospice Foundation or the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
