Michael R. Fleming

Michael R. Fleming, age 84, a lifelong Almont resident, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2026 at home. Michael was born December 16, 1941 in Mount Clemens, Michigan, the son of Harold R. and Irene D. (Simms) Fleming. He was a 1959 graduate of Mount Clemens High School. On February 8, 1964, Michael married Donna J. Williams, and they enjoyed 62 years of marriage. Michael gave his life to Christ at a young age and faithfully attended church growing up. Through his church attendance is how he met Donna. He currently was part of the church family at Crossroads Baptist in Imlay City, MI.

Throughout his life, Michael enjoyed farming and worked as a tool and die maker / prototype buyer for TRW Automotive. Michael was a member of the Armada Agricultural Society Fair Board for 18 years serving as the livestock superintendent. Over those years he was instrumental in pioneering the 4-H livestock sale. Michael was a 4-H leader for over 50 years. He enjoyed showing livestock at 13 county fairs and the Michigan State fair. He enjoyed raising swine, sheep, Belgian draft horses, border collie dogs and beef cattle.

Michael is survived by his wife, Donna J. Fleming, children, Sandra (Hal) Schuman Jr. of Kendallville, Indiana, Susan Knust of Dryden, Michael Lyle (Davette) Fleming, of Dryden, grandchildren, David M. (Kathleen) Knust, Kelly (Frank) Lams, Jessica Knust, Brenden Fleming, Conner Fleming, Mikayla Fleming, and great-grandchildren, Madison Knust, Edgar Lams, and Frank Lams. Michael is preceded in death by his son-in-law David C. Knust.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 10, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Friday, September 11, 2026 at 11:00 AM, instate from 10:00 AM at Crossroads Baptist Church (6835 Weyer Rd, Imlay City, MI 48444). Burial will take place at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Dryden, MI.
