Rena T. Hanselman

Rena T. Hanselman, age 97, a resident of Almont since 2015 and previously from Boyne City/Florida, passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2026 in Armada Michigan. Rena was born June 20, 1929 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Daniel and Rena (Thacher) Malbouef. She married Russell Hanselman in 1947 and he passed away on July 31, 2016. For many years, Rena worked at Buddy’s Pizza at 13 Mile and Van Dyke in Warren. Her hobbies for many years were golfing, bowling, and painting with watercolors. She was well known for helping anyone out, and being with her grandchildren.

Rena is survived by her children: Michael of Punta Gorda, Florida, Beth Anne (Gary) Schmid of Macomb Township, daughter-in-law Jolene of Katy, Texas, and Lisa (Tom) Evans of Almont, along with 8 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. Also survived by brother Daniel (Judy) Malbouef. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Hanselman, daughter, Peggy Jo Miller, son Daniel, daughter-in-law Carol Hanselman, and sisters Dolores Elzier Fritz, Barbara Ann Kimbler.
