Robert L. “Bob” See, aged 92, a life-long resident of Romeo & a devoted member of St. John Lutheran Church, passed away at Orchard Grove Healthcare campuson Wednesday, July 28, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. Bob was born February 5, 1929, the son of William& Ila See. After enrolling at Western Michigan University Bob was drafted & served on the front lines in the United States Army in the Korean War. He was a member of the Lutheran Brotherhood & was Adjutant of the Romeo VFW Post 2052 for many years. He married Lily Grabove of Sarnia, Ontario on September 11, 1951. They enjoyed 63 years of marriage, had many friends& traveled extensively to all corners of the U.S. as well as 3 trips to Europe before Lily passed in 2014. He had a long career at the Romeo Post office where he started working as a mail carrier and retired as the Postmaster. Bob was a devoted husband, father, grandfather & great grandfather who rarely missed watching a Detroit Tiger baseball game. He loved spending time with his family, gardening, reading, pre-planning vacations& once retired, painting, wallpapering &gifting his beautifully painted birdhouses to family & friends. He was a devoted Christian, a mentor & role model to many. He is pre-deceased by his wife Lily, brother Harvey See & grandson Charles See. He is survived by three children, Linda (Craig) Nowicke of Florida, Carrie (Ross) Bergeon of Washington Township and Tim (Judy) See of Rochester; 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brother Don (Ceil) See of Troy, Michigan. A private graveside memorial service will be held at a later date and followed by interment at the Romeo Cemetery.
