With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Ronald Theodore Rossell (born December 3, 1947), a beloved father, husband, and leader, who left us on July 14, 2025. Ron was a beacon of kindness and generosity, dedicated to serving others, and committed to his family and community throughout his life.

In 1976, he and his family moved to Romeo, where Ron quickly became involved in organizations and initiatives that shaped the community. His journey began as a volunteer at the Michigan Peach Festival in 1977, a commitment that would grow into becoming President of the Michigan Peach Festival Association in 1988 and serving prominently in that organization for 25 years. Ron was an active member of the Romeo Lions Club for 39 years, where his hard work earned him the prestigious Lions International Melvin Jones Award in 2006. And in 2025 in recognition of his profound contributions, he was honored with the lifetime achievement award from the Romeo Lions. He also served on the Village of Romeo City Council from 1996 until 2014, investing his time in community development and public service. He was also active in the Masonic community beginning in 1994.

Ron had a successful career in the insurance industry, as CEO of Action Insurance Service, Inc. His leadership extended far beyond insurance as he served in several significant community roles, including as a past president of the Romeo-Washington Chamber of Commerce, Macomb County Agents Association, and the Romeo DDA. Ron’s legacy of service continued with 15 years on the board of Premium Finance Cooperation.

Ron is survived by his wife Melinda (Lewis) Rossell. They met at Central Michigan University. After their second date, he told Melinda that he was going to marry her, a prediction that came true with 55 years of marriage and a beautiful family. He is also survived by son Joe Rossell and wife Laura (Davis), daughter Holly Rossell-Hays and husband Tim Hays; grandchildren Megan Rossell and Delos Rossell. He is also survived by his sister Lori Mohan and husband Buddy; sisters-in-law Sharron Massie and Judy Hill; nieces and nephews Donald, James, Scott, Alisa, Jason, John, Ross, Jamie, Ben, Nicole, Katie, Ian, and Adam; and many loving friends.

Ron will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to family, friends, and community. His kindness, warmth, and dedication to making the world a better place will always be cherished.
