Sharon M. Morrisey-Reinke, a longtime resident of Ferndale, MI, was called home at the age of 86 on April 5, 2024 with family by her side.
Sharon was born March 9, 1938 in Detroit, MI to David and Muriel Morrisey. She attended a Catholic boarding school in Monroe, MI and graduated from St. Theresa High School in 1955. A member of Sigma, Sigma, Sigma Sorority, she graduated from the University of Detroit with a Bachelor's degree in English and History with a minor in Theology in 1960. After graduating from the university and pursuing postgraduate studies, she shared her love of education and learning with her children, grandchildren, and through her work as an English high school teacher in her early years.
Sharon was incredibly charismatic with an infectious smile and good sense of humor. She was a devoted Catholic and loved life and pursuits that could enrich her mind. She enjoyed watching PBS historical documentaries, playing chess, playing the piano, drawing and was an avid reader of mystery novels.
She is survived by her three daughters, Karen Pedro, Sheila (Ed) Fowler, and Denise Bustos; four grandchildren, Drew (Anna) Fowler, Hallie (Brandon) Wickersham, Nichole (Ryan) Lee, and Garrett (Chelsea) Fowler; and four great-grandchildren, Everleigh, Olivia, Declan, and Jaxton. Her person and wit will be sincerely missed.
A private ceremony for the family will be held at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home in Romeo, MI and she will be laid to rest at Roseland Cemetery in Berkley, MI. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Michigan Humane Society.
