Steven Raymond Kenward

Steven Raymond Kenward, age 64, passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at home while surrounded by loved ones. Steve, the son of David and Jane (Peka) Dine, was born on June 1, 1960, in Mount Clemens, Michigan. Steve was a resident of Romeo and Troy, Michigan.

Steve cherished solitude in the mountains and the outdoors. He loved to camp, saunter (hike), fish, and explore. Steve found great joy in discovery. He especially liked to visit state parks, scenic places of interest, historic sites, and national monuments, both up north and down south. Steve was an avid deer hunter. He also enjoyed traveling to his uncle's place in Fife Lake and taking trips to his sister's property in Hale. Steve was skilled in many fields including home remodeling and building unique furniture. His most recent activities were spending quality time with his grandchildren and family, restocking fishing gear, and scoping out the best spots to fish at Stony Creek Metro.

Steve is survived by his children, Trisha (Adam) Nester and Steven (Elyssa) Kenward; their mother, Jennie Kenward; his siblings, Dave Kenward Jr., Dawn (Rick) Slater, and Jill (Don) Hemmen; brothers-in-law, Dave and Jack Domanski; father-in-law, Charles Domanski and mother-in-law, Nancy Domanski; uncle Butch (Raymond Peka Jr.); nieces and nephews,Michelle Vasquez, Amanda Walls, Keith Domanski, Dono Hemmen, and Nathan Domanski; and his grandchildren, Bryce Kenward, Snow Nester, Aries Kenward, Jade Nester, and Sinarra Kenward.

Steve was predeceased by his father, David Kenward Sr.; mother, Jane Dine (Peka); stepfather, Tom Dine; stepmother, Marietta Kenward; aunts Lois Jovanov (Peka) and Patricia Dooley (Peka); and nephew, Jason Kenward.

Steve loved nature, sightseeing, family, and adventure. The excursions and pictures he took were inspiring. He will be dearly missed.

Visitation will be held Sunday, June 1, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home.
