William F. Himelberger

William F. Himelberger, age 91, a long time resident of Romeo, Michigan, passed away July 16, 2025 at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township. Bill was born January 13, 1934, the son of Francis and Anna (Votaw) Himelberger.

Bill was a 1952 graduate of Muskegon High School. He then went on to graduate from Ferris University to become a Pharmacist in 1956. On September 11, 1957, he joined the United States Army as a Pharmacist and was honorably discharged on August 31, 1963.

On April 17, 1960, he married Charlene, and they enjoyed 44 years of marriage before she preceded him in death on June 2, 2004. Bill spent many years as a pharmacist, working at Morley Pharmacy, Almont Community Hospital, and Donahue Drug Store before retiring in 1998. Bill was very proud of joining the Vergers Guild of the Episcopal Church. He loved giving back to the community, and did a lot of volunteer work over the years. He was a faithful volunteer at the Samaritan House since 2009, he spent many years in the Rotary, also many years as a volunteer on mission trips to St. Paul, Virginia, as well as spending time as a volunteer serving food for “His Table.”

Bill is survived by his sister, Carolyn Ahrens, sister-in-law, Donna Himelberger, nephews, Brian (Mason) Hoover and Scott (Stacia) Himelberger, nieces, Julie (Joe) McKeever and Heidi Himelberger Leggett, as well as many great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Saturday, August 2, 2025 from 1:30 to 2:00 PM with the funeral service starting at 2:00 PM, both held at St. Paul Episcopal Church (11100 32 Mile Road, Romeo, Michigan 48065). After services conclude, urn burial will take place in the Memorial Garden.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the St. Paul Episcopal Rotary Club.
